Ben's career in art started in Durango, Colorado. Living through a complex life, he underwent many difficulties with drawing, painting, etc. Doing art shows in Charlottesville, VA before going to The Art Institute of Seattle was enjoyable to Ben. Becoming a fine artist in a commercial art school was also an experience for him. The teachings of traditional methods of art and designing were starting to be diminished due to the use of computers. This disinterested Ben. While attending AIS, Shane Liston and Bill Cummings were most interesting to him.. Working in the Seattle area, his passion for art grew. Moving back to Charlottesville, VA, he continued doing art shows and inspiring students. Through Ben's teachings he learned that the right side of the brain was responsible for this creative dexterity. Mediums such as clay, paper, and other hands on materials provided this tangible theory. For instance a 15-inch screen could not for Ben, utilize his fullest capabilities due to the consistent conditional environment. The individual process of art can build confidence levels, productivity, alertness and the growing speed to composite numerous designs at a faster rate of consistency.

No matter what your major or interests are, these practices will help you be more aware of your changing environment and reaction time. Positive and negative spaces are our environment and if manipulated or produced we can all learn something about ourselves, achievements and appreciation for creativity. If you have any questions please contact Ben at (302) 437-4089. Any drawings can be transferred to paintings. Ben also has many other samples and can also conceptually paint to the needs of your interior.
