In 1988 Alan Giana began his science fiction and fantasy career as a traditional artist. In 1989 his work was chosen to be in the exhibit "The Art of Fantasy and Science Fiction" held at the Delaware Art Museum in Wilmington, DE. From 1988 to 1991 Alan's work was published in numerous small-press magazines and on several book covers for Pulphouse Publishing.
In 1991 he entered the realm of digital art, and has since worked exclusively in that medium. Over the last eight years Alan's work has been used on book covers, brochures, CD covers, magazine covers, packaging, posters, puzzles and web sites. His digital artwork has won many awards, including the "Premier Print Award" by the Printing Industries of America and the "Pro-Comm Award of Excellence" by the Business Marketing Association.
Alan's artwork has appeared in magazines such as Analog, Asimov's, Dragon and Marion Zimmer Bradley's Fantasy Magazine. He was recently voted "Best Interior Artist" for 1998 by the readers of Asimov's.

- photo illustrations for the Daryl Hall and John Oates music CD "Marigold Sky."
- illustrations for the puzzle "Cyber Sleuth," produced by BePuzzled.
- book cover illustrations for Prentice Hall.
- book cover illustrations for Jamsa Press.
- cover illustrations for Network Computing Magazine.
- illustrations for a series of Budweiser lighters for Anheuser-Busch.
- advertising illustrations for corporate client's such as General Electric, IBM, Pratt & Whitney, Reebok, Spalding, Stanley, Timex and Uniroyal.
- illustrations for the children's games Leaping Lily Pads, Dog house, Ditto Kiddo and Lion's Share.
