Joseph Mauricio is a self-taught artist who has been working in the art community since 1996. His specialty is in designing unique creatures, surreal landscapes, science fiction art and the fantastique. The influential artists that Joseph admires include contemporaries such as Wayne Douglas Barlowe, H.R. Giger, Zdzislaw Beksinski and Brom. Joseph has shown his art regularly at the San Diego Comic-Con International. Other areas of related art are photography. Joseph also plans to venture into digital art emphasizing the surreal.
 
"I generally work on gessoed masonite panels in acrylic paint applied traditionally by brush. I also like to use graphite pencils on Arches cold-press 80-100 lbs. stock paper.
