My initial training in art began at Lorain High School, In Lorain, Ohio, in the mid-sixties. Next, I took art classes at Western Kentucky University where I graduated in 1970 with a B.A. in English. I taught English for many years before becoming the "artist in residence" at "Windmill Art", an art gallery in Elyria, Ohio. There I created block prints, seriagraphs and calligraphy.
When the recession of the late seventies deepened, I moved to Cleveland where I received extensive training in the graphic arts. This led to full-time employment as a graphic artist. My work has appeared in art shows in Ohio and can be found in many private collections.
I see my present work as a logical continuation of my efforts in printmaking, photography and calligraphy. I find the medium of digital imaging to be both a tremendous challenge (in learning to hit the right buttons), and an artistic liberation. My most recent compositions attempt to transform traditional images into digital works that border on the surreal and the fantastic.
