Return of the "Orphan Works" Act (03/16/2008)
The Illustrator's Partnership has a report on the latest Congressional subcommittee hearings.
The "Orphan Works" act, otherwise touted as the Public Domain Enchancement Act (PDEA) is in the process of being revived. Its first hearing, by a subcommittee of the House Committee of the Judiciary, took place on Thursday, March 13, 2008. This particular piece of legislation holds great interest for everyone involved in the creative fields and should it pass, will affect all creators.

ASFA Forums update (11/05/2007)
Scheduled upgrade for the ASFA Forums.
The Forums software will be removed and the latest version installed on Nov. 12, 2007. All messages, users and threads will be cleared out on Nov 12,2007. San Diego Comic-Con to Reduce Artist Alley by 33% (03/12/2007)
ASFA has been told that, due to financial considerations, San Diego Comic Con will reduce the number of tables available at this year's convention by 33% (as compared to the number of tables available at the 2006 Comic Con).

ASFA Changes Its Mailing Address! (12/14/2006)
ASFA has contracted with Leprecon Inc, a volunteer organization in Arizona that supports sf/f artists, to forward its mail on a bi-weekly basis. The new address is PO Box 65011, Phoenix, AZ 85082-5011. For more information about Leprecon Inc, go to: www.leprecon.org.
