Believing in the unbelievable and rendering the fantastic is Matt's motto. Working mainly in oils, he creates works for books, magazines and the occasional commission. He was raised in an old Victorian home in Bountiful, Utah that was referred to by some as "The Haunted House of Odell Lane". He is a winner in the 2004 L. Ron Hubbard's Illustrators of the Future contest. He has won several awards for his paintings, both during his collage days and after. One notable show where he won two awards was the "All Utah Open", a show encompassing many of the collages of Utah at the same gallery. He has illustrated for Dark Regions Press, Fantastic Stories of the Imagination, SFWA's "The Bulletin", Steve Jackson Games, Yard Dog Press and Galaxy Press. He and his wife are now residing in San Antonio, TX with their cat Mischief and the occasional gecko in need of relocation to the wilds outside his back door.
